EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
We offer evidence-based EMDR therapy for adults and adolescents seeking relief from the lasting effects of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, grief, chronic pain, and other distress-related conditions.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a structured, non-invasive psychotherapy recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), American Psychological Association (APA), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Department of Defense as a first-line treatment for trauma.
It helps your brain reprocess disturbing memories so they lose their emotional intensity and no longer trigger the same overwhelming thoughts, feelings, or physical reactions.
How does EMDR Work?
Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps, or auditory tones), EMDR enables the brain to naturally resume its healing process, similar to what occurs during REM sleep. Most clients notice significant reduction in distress within the first few sessions.
